History Shawl. DK and 4ply Knitting Pattern

£5.00

“History”
This design was conceived for a reading group of the Outlander story on Facebook.

In the story Brianna has created a child’s hat in blue and white stripes with a red pom pom. This is done when she is back through the stones, and is part of a memory for Claire.

I have taken the vision of the hat and replicated the colours into a shawl that would wrap the wearer in the love and passed memories that the vision holds.

Since starting the piece and having to pause it due to personal circumstances, we have now moved into the Queens Jubilee year with all its red, white and blue alongside the timing of release being close to July 4th and Independence Day colours, hence the name History seems fitting for the shawl.

Of course, the colours you chose to create it in will mean much to you and I look forward to seeing what you create with this pattern.

The pattern is worked top down, with knit and purl stitches, and four rows of simple lace towards the bottom, it’s certainly suitable for a beginner with some knowledge that wishes to start the journey of shawl making.

There are no working charts the pattern is written row by row

Approx Overall Yarn Used 1000m on 3.75mm needles

It’s been inspired by my love of the Scottish Highlands.
