“The Burn”

This is a simple knit shawl using two skeins of fingering/4ply/sock weight yarn.

Its suitable for a beginner and makes a relaxing “television” project, working the stitches in a diagonal direction.

It could be created using different weights of yarns using the needle sizes advised by the yarn supplier and simply working the design to your desired size.

The style of the shawl will depending on the size you knit it allow you to wear it wrapped around the body as a traditional sontag would have worn in the 1800s.

I have designed this piece as part of an Outlander Knit Along with Honey Girl Farms.

It’s been inspired by my love of Outlander, the Scottish Highlands and historical clothing and textiles.

Overall Yarn Used 800m on 3.75mm needles
