“Leighiche” Shawl
This shawl has been created and inspired from a drawing found in an 1864 pattern book.
Its name comes from the Scots Gaelic word for ’healer’.
It’s a simple knitted triangular shawl, that can easily be enlarged from the stated measurements if required. Its points can be taken to the back of the body and fastened with a shawl pin, the tails are not long enough to tie together like a sontag.
I have created it using three shades of yarn but would also look lovely in one shade if preferred.
It’s been inspired by my love of Outlander and the Scottish Highlands.
This allows you to choose a variety of colours that could be blended together to create a stunning piece for yourself.
Approx Overall Yarn Used 503m on 8mm needles
The pattern is easily written and is suitable for a beginner knitter that is able to knit and make a stitch within the same stitch, knit, and purl.
It’s been inspired by my love of Outlander and the Scottish Highlands.
This listing is for the KNITTING PATTERN only and not the finished garment.
It’s a pattern suitable for all abilities.
