“Hilltop”
This is a mix of a shawl and a cowl in one piece, providing warm to the shoulders and back without any shawl tails getting in the way of anything you maybe doing.
It is based around the shawl worn in the first season of outlander and as can be seen here, depending on the colours used it can have a timeless or modern look.
It’s a perfect pattern using knit and purl stitches with an introduction to working both back and forth on the needles and then onto a circular one.
The tassel at the shawl point is optional.
The pale version seen here in the pattern is created holding a skein of mohair lace alongside with the aran, and has produced a lovely fabric both to look at and to wear.
Approx Overall Yarn Used 338m on 6mm needles
It’s a style that’s perfect for any Outlander or fan of Scotland, wanting to create a piece that holds memories of a remarkable location in the Scottish Highlands.
.
It’s been inspired by my love of Outlander, the Scottish Highlands and historical clothing and textiles.
