I wanted to create a shawl that was equally suitable for a newborn baby as for wearing and so I used a circular shaping to design this.
Its knitted using simple stitches in fingering/4ply/sock yarn that makes for a light and soft shawl. I used the beautiful yarn hand dyed by dandelions and daisies to create a piece with a vintage feel and colouring.
The working of the piece is from the centre outwards.
Aprrox Yarn Used 1100m 4ply on 3.75mm needles
Its suitable for the intermediate knitter upwards and is a good project for someone wanting to create a piece working in the round.
Whether you create this as a birthing gift, or for yourself to wrap into, I hope you enjoy the making and use of the shawl.
It’s been inspired by my love of the Scottish Highlands.
This listing is for the KNITTING PATTERN only and not the finished garment.
It’s a pattern suitable for all abilities.
