Fennel Shawl. Aran Weight Knitting Pattern

£5.00

“Fennel”

This traditional shaped shawl has been created in collaboration with Loch Ness Knitting who creates the most gorgeous palate of yarn colours by using recycled waste materials, such as coffee grinds, avocado skins and orange peel from the local café in Loch Ness.

The colour shown here come from her Café Collection which is produced all year round, though she also has a seasonal collection produced from natural plant dyes collected from a local woodland, which ever you choose to use, will produce a timeless shawl that will give many years of pleasure.

It’s a style that’s perfect for any Outlander or fan of Scotland, wanting to create a piece that holds memories of a remarkable location in the Scottish Highlands.

Its design has centred around the traditional triangular shawl of historical periods and is created with simple edge.

The shaping is worked to allow the shawl to be worn in many ways and the stitch pattern allows the shawl to be reversible.

Approx Overall Yarn Used 664m on 6mm needles

Its suitable for an intermediate beginner and above.

The name of the shawl comes from one of the herbs grown in the kitchen garden at Castle Leoch in the Outlander story.

It’s been inspired by my love of Outlander, the Scottish Highlands and historical clothing and textiles.

This listing is for the KNITTING PATTERN only and not the finished garment.

It’s a pattern suitable for all abilities.
