“Windswept”
This design is themed for my January Outlander monthly pattern where the inspiration title was “The Wilds Of Scotland”.
It’s been created in DK weight yarn and I have used colours that represent the shades of the heather on moorland and with the shaping of the shawl creating a sideways slant to the stripes, its recreated the sense of the wind sweeping over the glens.
I have added little blackberries to one point of the shawl that are added after the main shawl construction which allow them to be optional.
The whole piece is representative of Jamie and Claire’s multiple journeys across the wild Scotland landscape when Claire would have been foraging for berries to supplement any food they carried.
Its an easy knit piece that hopefully allows it to be worked by any knitter knowing the basic stitches.
The stripes are a little more than garter stitch although through not blocking the shawl to keep the texture, its made it a little harder to see the detail.
the pattern is written row by row without charts
This listing is for the KNITTING PATTERN only and not the finished garment.
It’s a pattern suitable for all abilities.
***There is no shipping charge as this is a PDF file for download.***
