“Hogmanay”

Starting of the first day of 2024 off with this Aran and DK weight shawl, it is a fast and large piece due to the shaping I have used and is worked on 6mm needles.

Its suitable from a beginner with some experience of doing a yarn over and creates a lovely thick lace and garter stitch shawl or turned over and wrapped a lovely neck scarf.

I have used a combination of an independent dyers yarn with a commercial one, you could use whatever yarn you have in your stash or a new colour combination that you fancy, the pattern will work with any yarn of the correct weight.

It’s one to have fun with, and I look forward to seeing your colour combinations or it created in one colour…possibilities are endless.

As always the pattern contains no charts or odd coding and is written in an easy and straight forward format.

You will need 1 x 100g 166m of Aran yarn and 1 x 100g DK/Worsted yarn with a min of 192m
