About Us

My love of the countryside, history, folklore and literature has fed my inspiration for all that you see here and my designs are constantly expanding as my ideas and passion for creating with yarn is ever evolving.

My journey with yarn began at the age of 8 when my Granny taught me at Christmas how to cast on and work a few stitches, I was terrible at it and had dropped stitches everywhere! She unfortunately lived a distance away so my learning lessons were few and far between, until I picked up the needles seriously in my late teens and then revisited my journey around 15 years ago, from where its grown and grown.

I wanted to take an element of knitting patterns that make it seem daunting and write them in simplistic terms to allow anyone to find their capabilities are achievable. I use simple stitches and shaping to create designs that look more complicated than they truly are, and with over 150 published patterns to date, there should be something for everyone.

I live and work rurally in Buckinghamshire, having the blessing of farmland that we work to fill my head with ideas of colours and designs. As for everyone there are never enough hours in the day, but what time allows becomes art on my needles which in turn through my easy to read and understand patterns, allows you to create something to be proud of.

My doll making began a number of years ago after creating one for my daughter and has since resulting in them being sent all around the world. I love being given a theme to a doll and creating something custom made from what is essentially, wool, cloth, and yarn. By turning it into something to be treasured for many years to come fills me with immense gratitude that I am able to use my artistry to bring someone a smile.

Many of my designs have been created from historical fiction and my love of Scotland alongside period costume and drama.

I am always open to new possibilities, so if you have a favourite novel or film that you would like to see a piece inspired by, please do get in touch.

I attend yarn shows and exhibitions around the UK and if you want to be kept up to date as to where I maybe, please do complete the subscribe field to receive an email.
