“The Cart Wheel”
This is a design inspired by the Outlander story and the journeys carried out by horse and cart at the beginning of their new life in America.
It’s a triangular shawl worked in double knit yarn with a decorative edging depicting the carts wheels. I have created it using three colours that to me are historical natural shades, but it could of course be created in any colour combinations or happily a single colour if you prefer.
Approx Overall Yarn Used 675m on 5mm needles
Its suitable for beginners and above that have worked a picot edging although there are full instructions on the cartwheel edge for those wanting to make this as their next challenge piece.
It’s been inspired by my love of Outlander, the Scottish Highlands and historical clothing and textiles.
