“Treasure”
This design is knitted and then felted to create a snake and pouch.
Its been created for the knit along in conjunction with Honey Girl Farms Yarn and is inspired by the Outlander story.
“Sawney” the wooden snake is treasured by Jamie through the books and series and I wanted to incorporate him into my designs, so here he is felted.
Using the same skein of yarn, I have then created a pouch that would have been in keeping with the historical period for money/jewels or for Claire to collect or keep vials of herbs in.
Due to being felted after knitting it’s a great fun pattern for an intermediate beginner to try as the felting process will hide any imperfections to the knitting or edges and will create something completely unique every time, no one felted piece is the same as the next.
The yarn used to create these must of course be able to felt, and therefore should not have a superwash label attached to it, or contain any manmade fibre.
The yarn details I have used are all included here in the pattern.
Approx Overall Yarn Used 233m on 8mm needles
It’s been inspired by my love of Outlander, the Scottish Highlands and historical clothing and textiles.
This listing is for the KNITTING PATTERN only and not the finished garment.
It’s a pattern suitable for all abilities.
