“A Year And A Day”
This is a rectangular wrap/scarf/shawl that I have designed using bulky yarn that is light in its feel allowing the piece to be worn in a variety of ways.

It’s a simple make, using easy stitches to create something that looks more complicated than it actually is, this allows you to use a yarn of your choice and knit a piece that will be admired however you decide to wear it.

The yarn I have used is listed here in the pattern, and I look forward to seeing it created in a variety of yarns.

Approx Overall Yarn Used 630m on 10mm needles

It name comes from the custom of hand fasting and the time that in the 1700s was given to couple from making their promise to each other before taking a legal ceremony to join them as husband and wife.


It’s been inspired by my love of the Scottish Highlands.
